Position Overview
Senior Assistant Director of International Admission – under the supervision of the Associate Director of International Admission, this role is responsible for executing key aspects of the College’s international recruitment strategy, representing the College in international recruitment efforts within the United States and overseas, and supporting application review, selection, and data analysis.
The senior assistant director is a key member of the Office of Admission, dedicated to attracting ambitious, independent‑minded students to Mount Holyoke’s inclusive and socially conscious community of 2,200 students. The position requires adaptability and collaboration across teams in a fast‑paced environment with evolving responsibilities.
Travel & Recruitment- Travel approximately 6–10 weeks per year, including visits to high schools overseas, delivering key messages in public presentations, and creating electronic visuals to accompany presentations.
- Plan recruitment trips in the assigned travel territory and liaison work with schools, counselors, and other educational stakeholders.
- Implement strategic admission initiatives related to international recruitment and travel.
- Represent the College internationally at high schools, college fairs, individual meetings with students, and off‑campus events.
- Create videos, as needed, to explain aspects of Mount Holyoke’s admission process and support virtual recruitment activities.
- Partner with the Associate Director to monitor staff reading progress, develop communication for incomplete applications, and train domestic staff on English proficiency expectations and required financial qualifications.
- Read and evaluate applications from assigned territories.
- Guide and support applicants within assigned territories through individualized outreach.
- Consult with colleagues in the Office of Student Financial Services for need‑sensitive admission decisions.
Assess effectiveness of annual recruitment travel using data analytics platforms and information. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree; 5+ years in international admission or related experience.
- Knowledge of global education systems, English proficiency tests, and CRM platforms (Slate preferred).
- Strong communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
- Experience with international recruitment travel and student engagement.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams in a dynamic environment.
- Preferred: multilingual, experience managing student or alum programs, familiarity with women’s college mission.
