PVPA has an opportunity for a full time Grade 7 Social Studies Teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year. We are looking for a reflective practitioner who collaborates effectively with colleagues and understands the varied needs of seventh grade students. In this course, students will explore the roots and philosophical foundations of U.S. democracy. The ideal candidate is interested in integrating the arts into the curriculum, teaching with a social justice lens, collaborating with students and colleagues, and has experience in implementing restorative practices in the classroom. Under the direction of the Director of Curriculum & Instruction, you will be responsible for:

  • Attending and participating in meetings with students and/or parents as scheduled, including open house and parent‑teacher conferences
  • Coordinating with special educators to address the diverse needs of all learners
  • Assisting with other faculty administrative duties as required
  • Participating in school‑wide events that occur during the school day

2026‑2027 school year consists of 180 school days plus 5 professional development/curriculum work days and a thirty‑five hour work week that includes, on average, three class blocks per day of collaborative/independent work time.
