POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Assistant Golf Professional supports the Head Golf Professional in the day‑to‑day management of golf operations. All duties must be performed with a strong commitment to exceptional customer service, member satisfaction, and the promotion of the game of golf.
Essential Responsibilities- Promote the golf club and maintain a high level of professionalism and service.
- Maintain all golf facilities in a clean, safe, and organized manner.
- Manage the club's handicap system.
- Order, stock, price, and display golf merchandise.
- Welcome guests, provide outstanding service, respond to inquiries, and resolve issues.
- Manage opening, closing, and security procedures for the golf facility.
- Maintain current knowledge of golf course operations and setup.
- Play the golf course regularly to maintain proficiency and understand conditions.
- Schedule and conduct golf tournaments; manage tee times and course flow.
- Oversee golf shop activities in the absence of the Head Professional.
- Assist with interviewing and onboarding seasonal staff.
- Train employees on departmental policies and procedures.
- Supervise golf operations staff to support high performance standards.
- Coordinate and conduct group golf events.
- Manage the tee sheet and communicate daily play rules and conditions.
- Assist in budgeting, purchasing, and recommending operational improvements.
- Maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all members, guests, and colleagues.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
- Work environment includes indoor spaces (with A/C) and outdoor conditions.
- Use of standard office equipment: computers, printers, copiers, laminators, shredders, Microsoft Office Suite.
- Use of golf operations equipment: golf carts, POS system, GPS units, ball pickers.
- Physical requirements include standing, sitting, bending, stretching, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a golf professional preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Competency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- PGA Membership in good standing (or actively pursuing PGA membership) preferred.

Head Golf Professional
This is a seasonal position, typically operating 30–33 weeks per year.
In accordance with Massachusetts pay transparency requirements, the compensation for this role is:
- Base Pay: $22.00–$26.00 / hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Tip and Gratuities
- Lesson Revenue Share
- Junior Camp Program Revenue Share
(All supplemental earnings are directly tied to service delivered and may vary.)
Additional Benefits- Meals provided while on duty

All compensation is paid in accordance with applicable federal and Massachusetts wage and hour laws.
