The Security Officer provides security services to VCUHS by courteously assisting staff, visitors and patients; enforcing rules and regulations of the hospitals; projecting a positive image; and promoting a safe healthcare environment.
The Security Officer conveys an image of professionalism, behaving in a way that is conducive to good hospital and community relations. This is an unarmed, non-sworn security position.

ExperienceREQUIRED:
- Previous knowledge of security and/or law enforcement measures and techniques at a level generally acquired during 6 to 12 months of on-the-job training and orientation in such techniques or college curriculum in Administration of Justice
- One (1) year of security, public safety or law enforcement work experience
REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associates Degree in Criminal Justice or related field
- De-escalates agitated patients, both individually and as a member of a team.
- Prevent potentially risky and/or violent situations.

Additional position requirements:- Ability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays and extended hours based on schedule and organizational needs.
- Some Security Officer roles may require valid Virginia Driver's License and acceptable driving record that reflects safe and lawful motor vehicle operation

$15.69 - $23.53 Actual salary offers will be based on several key factors to include relevant work experience, credentials, and qualifications.
