Maintenance Operator – Streets Maintenance Department
Great Job Opportunity!! The Town of South Hill currently has a job opening for a Maintenance Operator within the Streets Maintenance Department.
Job duties include but are not limited to: general maintenance & construction, waste collection, operation of heavy equipment, installation/repair of water & sewer lines, snow & ice removal, direct traffic and guide trucks or equipment in congested areas; serve as flagger; clean equipment and trucks every day after completion of tasks; other duties as assigned. Must be willing to work overtime and respond to emergency call back when situations arise.
QualificationsA CDL license is required. Additional certifications within one year of hire include: VDOT Flagger Certification & Pesticide License. Prior experience in infrastructure construction and heavy equipment operations is preferred. The Town provides incentives for some certifications as well as educational development opportunities.
