Assistant Controller

Tarvos Talent is seeking an Assistant Controller for a client in opportunity in the South Houston area.

• Newly created position driven by rapid company growth
• Reports and works directly with the Controller and CFO
• Smaller, collaborative team

• Provide leadership and oversight of daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and a timely, efficient close process
• Strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures to support compliance, risk mitigation, and audit readiness
• Partner with the Controller and CFO on financial reporting, technical accounting matters, and key business initiatives
• Lead process improvements and ERP optimization efforts to enhance scalability, data integrity, and operational efficiency
• Develop, mentor, and manage the accounting team, fostering accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
• 8+ years of accounting experience
• Experience in scaling mid-sized companies
• CPA Preferred
