We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support day-to-day payment operations for a busy team in Houston, Texas. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing invoice activity with accuracy and consistency. The person in this role will help maintain timely vendor payments, strong financial records, and dependable accounts payable support.

Responsibilities:

• Review incoming invoices for completeness, accuracy, and proper approval before processing
• Assign the correct accounting codes to invoices and enter payment details into the accounts payable system
• Prepare and support regular check runs to ensure vendors are paid on schedule
• Match invoices with related documentation and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Maintain organized payment records and accounts payable files for audit and reporting purposes
• Communicate with internal teams and vendors to address invoice questions, payment status updates, and missing information
