We are looking for an Industrial Hygiene Technician in Freeport, Texas.

About you and this role:

Shares with the IH Specialist and IH Manager the responsibility for the implementation of the IH management system (work processes, standards, procedures) in order to meet business objectives and to maintain the license to operate. Provides hands‑on Industrial Hygiene activities for a specific plant.

Responsibilities:
  • Implements detailed, task level, day to day Industrial Hygiene programs, utilizing the IH work process, standards and procedures.
  • Ensures that the IH and Health aspects of Operating Discipline are adequate and applied to achieve IH performance goals. In most cases, would perform the role of Section owner for the IH section of Operating Discipline.
  • Acts as the Plant resource for related IH information on procedures, guidelines and standards.
  • Plant contact for IH and H issues.
  • Perform and document employee exposure risk assessments for chemicals, noise, ergonomics, radiation, and other IH-related items.
  • Coaches teams and individuals on IH related tasks and activities.
  • Assists in developing and achieving area or plant IH goals.
  • Ensures compliance tasks are completed.
  • Performs / coordinates certain IH routine and non‑routine monitoring (with assistance from the plant aligned H&S tech for scheduling and identifying non routine), including monitoring strategy, data collection, analyzing and reporting for the Plant.
  • Responsible for managing IH monitoring equipment and return it in a timely manner.
  • As required participates in the IH related reviews and projects.
  • Coordinates the schedules for audits in the IH related areas.
  • As required conducts and documents investigations of incidents and ensures follow up actions to prevent re‑occurrences that are addressed.
  • Coordinates with Industrial Hygiene Expertise and Health Services to assign medical surveillance requirements to affected employees.
Required qualifications:
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process
Preferred qualifications:
  • 2 or more years of experience in manufacturing and/or environmental, health, and safety fields
  • An associate's degree or three years or more of relevant military training/experience
  • Experience in hearing conservation
