Primary
Purpose:
Provide for the safety of the students, faculty, and staff. Assist in implementing procedures that will ensure the protection of the campus personnel and property.
Qualifications:
- Education/Certification:
High School diploma or GED - Must be able to work well with high school age students and educators
- Clear and valid Texas driver's license
- Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Demonstrate interest in and aptitude for work to be performed - Desire and ability to work with students, parent, faculty, and staff
- Experience:
Police and/or security training or experience preferred
Major
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Patrol assigned campus.
- Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules related to student conduct, vehicle operation, and parking.
- Assist visitors as they enter the campus.
- Maintains proper condition of parking lot carts and two-way radios, if assigned.
- Monitors campus on staff development days.
- Reports discipline problems to campus administrators.
- Complies with directions and instructions from supervisor, and performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as may be assigned throughout the district.
Equipment Used:
Ability to use security equipment and drive a golf cart.
Mental Demands:
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); coordinate campus support functions; maintain emotional control under stress.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Strenuous walking, standing, and/or climbing; ability to assist in controlling sudden violent or extreme physical acts of others and exhibit rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously. May be subjected to adverse and hazardous working conditions. Work outdoors in varying climate conditions.
