Senior Business Systems Manager

Canopy, South Jordan, UT, Hybrid

Canopy is a fast-growing SaaS company building simple, efficient software for accounting firms.

We are looking for a technical, strategic, execution-focused Senior Business Systems Manager to join our G&A team. This role will start as a hands‑on individual contributor, designing data flows, owning integrations, and governing systems. Over time, you may build and lead a Business Systems team.

Desired environment is a hybrid position in South Jordan, Utah with in‑office days Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

What You’ll Do:

System Ownership
  • Own day‑to‑day administration and architecture for cross‑functional platforms such as Zuora, Stripe, Asana, and Pendo.
  • Own the integration layer between core platforms, ensuring reliable, documented data flows.
  • Design data models, system specifications, and process flows from scratch based on stakeholder input.
  • Translate business requirements into clear, actionable system features, integrations, and enhancements.
  • Evaluate build‑vs‑buy tradeoffs with sufficient technical depth to defend recommendations.
  • Manage vendor governance, including procurement, license management, and renewal tracking across platforms.
Program Management
  • Own the internal systems roadmap and serve as the intake point for system changes, new tool evaluations, and automation requests.
  • Create technical documentation, decision logs, and retrospectives that enable action without follow‑up meetings.
  • Manage large, cross‑functional initiatives by establishing clear timelines, ownership, and outcomes.
  • Lead program cadences such as stand‑ups, roadmap reviews, retrospectives, and stakeholder updates.
Partnership & Strategy
  • Partner closely with Finance, Rev Ops, and BI to understand roadmaps, identify pain points, and propose solutions.
  • Reinforce internal data integrity by defining systems of record, enforcing data hygiene, and resolving conflicting definitions.
  • Communicate project status and solutions to leadership in person and asynchronously with documentation.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to track system health and performance metrics.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in program management, product ownership, business systems, or operations in a SaaS environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to personally produce technical artifacts such as ERDs, flow diagrams, and business requirements documents.
  • Hands‑on experience with SQL and data modeling; comfortable querying systems to diagnose data integrity issues.
  • Deep familiarity with internal G&A domains such as Finance, BI, and Rev Ops.
  • Experience with Zuora.
  • 2+ years of people‑management experience.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Pendo, Rippling, and Stripe is a plus.
  • Track record of leading cross‑functional initiatives from idea to execution.
  • Clear, confident communication skills, translating technical constraints into business language for all audiences.

We encourage all qualified candidates to apply, including those who may not meet every requirement.

Benefits
  • Flexible paid time off with encouragement to use, plus 10 company holidays.
  • Health benefits including medical, dental, vision, and an HSA match.
  • 401(k) with 100% match up to 3% of contribution, immediate vesting.
  • Mental health support and employee assistance program.
  • Paid new parent leave and birthing parent leave.

Supplemental benefits: 100% company‑paid basic life and AD&D insurance, long‑term and short‑term disability coverage.
  • Peer‑to‑peer recognition program.
  • Company events such as monthly meetings and summer parties.
  • ERG committees for community outreach, onboarding, and education.
  • Fully stocked kitchen with options for keto, vegan, flexitarian, and more.
