Classroom Assistant PT - Choir Accompanist

Job Description

Effective July 1, 2026.

• Provide high‑quality piano accompaniment for daily choir rehearsals, sectionals, concerts, festivals, and community performances.
• Read open choral scores accurately and adapt to various musical styles, from classical to contemporary/musical theatre.
• Assist the director with teaching, leading sectionals, and running rehearsals when needed.
• Support the program by handling essential classroom tasks such as grading, assessments, and other administrative duties.
• Serve as a positive mentor for students, supporting musical and academic development.

• Advanced piano skills: exceptional proficiency in performance, sight‑reading, and score‑reading. Prior experience accompanying choirs or soloists highly preferred.
• Collaborative spirit and willingness to contribute to a positive, inclusive department culture.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, including the ability to assist with grading and planning with attention to detail.
• Passion for education and comfort working with high‑school‑aged students.
• Approximately 25 hours per week.

Lane 1 Step 1 – $17.88/hour;
Lane 2 Step 1 – $18.88/hour (Associate's degree or 48 semester hours);
Lane 3 Step 1 – $19.94/hour (Current/Former Licensed Teacher).
Salary schedules as specified in the manual.
