Instructional Assistant Mild​/Mod PT

Position Summary

We are seeking two dedicated and compassionate Special Education Assistants to join our team.

2 Openings

• Lesson Adaptation:
  Modify and adapt classroom materials and lessons under the guidance of the lead teacher to align with each student's specific learning level and goals (IEPs).
• Goal Tracking:
  Help monitor and support students in reaching their individualized academic and developmental benchmarks.

• Behavior Management:
  Utilize established behavioral plans to safely and constructively manage challenging behaviors.
• Daily Physical Care:
  Assist students with daily living activities and physical care needs as required.

  Collaboration:
  
  Partner closely with special education teachers, therapists, and school administration to implement student support plans.
• Family Partnerships:
  Maintain open, proactive, and positive communication with families to ensure a cohesive and supportive bridge between home and school.

  An innate ability to connect with students.
• Resilience & Calmness:
  The ability to remain calm, steady, and supportive under pressure or during moments of high behavior.

Must complete Basic Training (5 hours) provided by the JSD Special Education Department. Training must be completed within one week of hire as a condition of employment.

Additional training is available through the Special Education department allowing the employee to increase to lane 4 upon completion.

Effective July 1, 2026

Lane 3 Step 1 ($19.94/Hour)
