(6) Collaborate with faculty in the choral, music education, voice, and opera areas to oversee and distribute resources in these areas; (7) Actively recruit undergraduate and graduate students to The University of Utah in both on campus and off campus events; (8) Provide leadership and coordination for undergraduate and graduate student recruitment efforts in the choral and voice areas; (9) Build and maintain productive relationships with local and regional school and community choral directors and singers;
(10) engage with current choral program curricula and ensembles while developing new opportunities for broader choral opportunities in the School of Music; (11) Perform administrative duties and serve on committees as assigned.
An earned doctorate in music is required; clear potential for a distinguished career as a conductor at national and international levels; demonstrated achievement as a choral conductor at the university level; experience performing repertory that enriches the cultural, artistic, and aesthetic range of performance experiences to which students are exposed; experience in teaching conducting courses at the university level; demonstrated ability to work closely in collaboration with applied faculty and other conducting colleagues;
experience engaging with secondary school choral students.
