Overview
WSP is initiating a search for a Vice President, Electrical Engineer for our South Jordan, UT office location. This role will be responsible for developing new clients and projects in the Healthcare sector and leading project teams to deliver those projects and grow client relationships. Initially we anticipate a balance of business development and project workload, evolving to roughly 25% business development and 75% project work over time.

- Drive the performance of the facility-based higher education-focused business and grow market share to make WSP our clients' preferred, trusted advisor.

- Support programs such as Safety, Sustainability, and Ethics & Compliance.
- Optimize the client and employee experience through regular reviews while embracing process improvement.
- Focus on innovation and collaboration while maintaining and improving quality.
- Develop local growth, forecast, and business development strategy in collaboration with District, Region, and National Business Line Leaders.
- Resolve conflicts and other internal/external issues that may arise in the office, with clients, or on projects.
- Collaborate with regional and district leaders to drive the business, assess and suggest improvements for project performance, oversee overhead expenditures, and focus on KPIs (Sales, Funding, EBITDA, Staff Hiring and Retention, DSO, Utilization, Backlog, Inclusion & Diversity, Guiding Principles).
- Leverage broad technical experience to enhance current and new service offerings.
- Foster development of new and emerging innovations to remain trusted thought leaders in the industry.
- Advance the region's strategic direction within the location of responsibility for sustained growth.
- Encourage, support, and promote the technical and professional development of local WSP staff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- 12+ years of experience in the Healthcare industry, focusing on Engineering Management, Business Development, and Business and Operations Management
- Professional Engineering license required
- Previous Healthcare consulting experience
- Extensive knowledge of electrical design, particularly in the Healthcare industry
- Known in the local community with an extensive network
- Proficient with electrical engineering principles, practices, processes, design/build, and permitting and project work-related issues
- Experience with electrical planning, design, and construction management, including renovation, new design, and construction projects
- Knowledge of relevant engineering and electrical construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements
- Ability to perform technical computations and calculations related to electrical engineering principles, plans and specifications, and regulatory compliance
- Demonstrated effectiveness coordinating and directing others to complete tasks safely and efficiently
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to WSP health, safety and harassment policies
- Experience mentoring less experienced staff
- LEED AP Certification
- 12+ years of relevant post-education experience as an electrical engineer
- At least 10+ years of Project Management experience
