The Client Director position is a high‑profile leadership role at Black & Veatch. The role is part of the Water / Wastewater business leadership team and involves managing the successful delivery of water infrastructure projects in the multi‑million‑dollar range.
Key Responsibilities- Business development:
Leading team marketing efforts, strategy development, prospect identification, proposal creation and presentation, project budgeting, and contracting. - Project management:
Interacting with clients, supporting development of market business plans and strategies, and promoting Black & Veatch through client and community activities. - Project execution:
Oversight of engineering managers, setting project performance goals, ensuring implementation, and active involvement with project teams and owner representatives. Perform or assist with budgeting, invoicing, payments and project performance reviews. - Staff management:
Developing team members, mentoring, coaching performance improvements, recommending training and promotion, and identifying new candidates.
- 15+ years of water/wastewater experience with demonstrated leadership in the Utah market.
- Professional Engineering License and Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
- Understanding of budgets and financial metrics.
- Contract negotiation skills, including knowledge of terms, risks, pricing and payment terms.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search).
