Medium Voltage Electrical Engineer

Quality Electrical Systems is growing and looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer with experience in medium-voltage power distribution systems, switch gear, and industrial electrical infrastructure.

In this role, you’ll work on custom-engineered electrical systems ranging from 480V through 15kV for utility, industrial, energy, and commercial applications nationwide. You’ll be involved throughout the project lifecycle from design and calculations through manufacturing support, testing, and commissioning.

• Design and develop medium-voltage electrical systems and power distribution equipment from 480V to 15kV
• Perform electrical calculations including load flow, short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies using SKM, ETAP, or similar software
• Support switch gear, protection, motor control, and power system integration projects
• Collaborate with project managers, production teams, field technicians, and customers throughout project execution
• Review customer specifications and ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, UL, and utility standards
• Assist with troubleshooting, testing, startup, and commissioning activities as needed
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, manufacturability, and system performance

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 3+ years of electrical engineering experience in power systems, switch gear, power distribution, utilities, or industrial electrical systems
• Strong understanding of medium-voltage electrical systems and protection concepts
• Experience reading and developing electrical schematics, one-lines, and wiring diagrams
• Knowledge of NEC and industry electrical standards

• Experience with medium-voltage switch gear or power distribution equipment
• Experience supporting industrial, utility, renewable energy, or data center projects
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical or similar design software
• Field commissioning or troubleshooting experience
