PositionFunctions: 30% Financial Planning and Advice
- Identify clients to engage or re-engage in planning relationships
- Prepare for client meetings focused on planning discussions
- Gather and enter client data into CRM
- Perform case analysis and develop recommendations
- Conduct and/or participate in client meetings to present recommendations and deliver advice
- Answer questions and provide readily available information to clients, upon request, related to servicing their accounts
- Track and hold clients accountable or agreed-upon actions
- Assess the client’s risks and goals
- Recommend portfolio or product solutions aligned with the client’s risk tolerance, goals, and time frame
- Run illustrations and hypothetical scenarios
- Encourage and guide clients to act upon suitable advice and recommendations
- Execute trades to align with proposed portfolio
- Monitor economy, markets, and global events to identify any need for strategic rebalancing
- Manage wholesaler relationships
- Conduct transactions on behalf of clients
- Business Management
- Review work methods and procedures for potential quality and efficiency improvements, and implement changes when appropriate
- Assign and delegate work and provide feedback to practice support staff when needed
- Participate in daily and weekly staff meetings
- Act as a technical resource, providing training and support to other practice members
- Client Services
- Set up and maintain client management system (i.e. AI-based tools)
- Review and respond to emails as necessary
- Maintain files and records in accordance with the records retention policy
- Develop and implement the annual marketing plan to achieve client acquisition goals
- Contact prospects to schedule meetings and appointments
- Leverage natural market to drive new client acquisition
- Learn and implement client referral program
- Use network marketing with Center of Influence to drive client acquisition
- Client and prospect outreach
- Referral and networking initiatives
- Seminars and events
- Skilled in meeting with clients and presenting planning strategies
- Effective at sourcing and engaging prospective clients
- Proactive in business development
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong desire to grow the business
- Capable of recommending suitable investment products and services
- Proven success in planning and managing resources (time, people, budget) to run an optimal practice
- Committed to adhering to rules and regulations required by the advisor and Ameriprise Financial
- Experienced in supporting and providing guidance on compliance matters
- College degree in finance or financial planning plus one year’s industry experience, or five years’ industry experience
- Possession of the required federal and state securities licenses and registrations, including Series 7, Series 66, and applicable state life, accident, and health insurance licenses
