A Day in the Life of the Blood Cancer Program Manager

In this role, you’ll lead educational and engagement initiatives that connect blood cancer patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to trusted information and each other. You’ll plan and host virtual webinars and podcasts, collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, and engage directly with the patient community to grow participation across Health Tree’s programs. Your work directly supports the organization’s mission to accelerate cancer cures through education, connection, and research.

Responsibilities include:
  • Planning, hosting, and moderating approximately 75 live educational webinars or podcasts per year featuring physicians, allied health professionals, and patients
  • Developing relationships with physicians, patient advocates, and industry partners to support educational programming
  • Collaborating with internal marketing, content, video, social, research, and development teams to expand community reach and engagement
  • Reviewing disease-specific educational video content and providing feedback to internal teams
  • Supporting patients by training them on Health Tree’s digital tools and data platform
  • Identifying and recruiting patients for focus groups, research initiatives, and other Health Tree programs
  • Sourcing speakers for Health Tree Connect to Cures events through disease expert relationships
  • Tracking and analyzing community growth metrics such as user acquisition, event participation, and research enrollment
  • Engaging with patients and caregivers on social media platforms to spark discussion and share relevant resources
  • Partnering with the Director of Hematology to inform annual content planning and share patient insights and trends
  • Serving as a patient advocate within internal initiatives and external partnerships
Requirements and

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare, medical education, patient advocacy, or community engagement
  • Background experience with hematology, oncology, or blood cancer–related education or advocacy
  • Prior experience hosting, moderating, or facilitating virtual events such as webinars or podcasts
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and facilitation skills; outgoing and empathetic style preferred
  • Experience translating complex medical or scientific information for patient audiences
  • High level of organization and project management skills with strong attention to detail
