This is a full time role for a Utilization Review Specialist, based in South Jordan, UT. The specialist will handle day-to-day tasks such as reviewing treatment authorization requests, managing documentation for insurance approvals, and ensuring adherence to compliance and regulatory standards. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with clinical and billing teams to address payer requirements and resolve any authorization or payment challenges effectively.
Qualifications- Strong understanding of utilization review and treatment authorization processes
- Experience with insurance compliance, regulatory standards, and behavioral health billing practices
- Proficient in documentation, record-keeping, and ensuring accuracy within healthcare records
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to liaise with clinical staff, payers, and billing teams
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid setting while maintaining productivity and accountability
- Familiarity with behavioral health terminologies and systems is highly desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience in healthcare/billing
- Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to maintaining privacy and confidentiality
