Overview
Technical Writer (Healthcare R&D) — South Jordan, UT — Direct Hire — $40-50k — Position will be fully onsite
Kelly is seeking a Technical Writer to work for a consulting company that specializes in R&D tax credits on a direct hire basis. This role will craft narratives that clearly document and defend clients’ research and experimentation activities under IRS Section 41. These documents serve as proactive audit defense materials, ensuring clients are prepared for potential IRS audits in the future.
Responsibilities- Research, draft, and edit detailed technical narratives that explain and defend client activities
- Collaborate with internal teams, including analysts and sales representatives, to verify and clarify client information gathered from clients
- Review and organize information collected by others to accurately reflect client activities
- Complete additional forms or documentation as required by clients or IRS guidelines
- Ensure all documentation is clear, precise, and compliant with relevant regulations
- Exceptional technical writing and editing skills; experience with research papers or academic writing strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience or familiarity with medical or dental terminology is a plus
- Commitment to original writing—AI-generated content is not permitted
- Tax-specific knowledge is not required; full training is provided
- Candidates will complete a writing test as part of the hiring process
