Unix System Administrator

Fedtec is looking for a Sr Linux/Unix Administrator for hybrid roles in Montgomery, AL, Ogden, UT, Mechanicsburg, PA, and Oklahoma City, OK. This role requires Security+, an active Secret clearance or higher, and 4+ years of UNIX/Linux administration experience, including Solaris, Red Hat Linux, disaster recovery, patching, troubleshooting, and cluster or virtualization support. The position also involves compliance, backups, hardware/software refreshes, incident ticket management, and support for disaster recovery efforts on a Wed‑Sat 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM shift.

Secret or higher (Active Secret Clearance is a must.)

Wed‑Sat (1:00 PM to 11:00 PM)

• Perform all security/compliance functions for Solaris AND Red Hat Linux environments to monitor and mitigate vulnerabilities and ensure compliance within specified timelines.
• Perform back‑up/recovery functions for Solaris AND Linux server environment.
• Perform hardware and software technology refreshes, ensuring milestone compliance while coordinating with MPs to minimize disruptions.
• Manage and maintain currently supported and subsequent UNIX‑based Operating Systems (OS) on physical and virtual operating environments, providing technical oversight and consultation services.
• Work with and manage Incident Management tickets within the help desk ticketing system.
• Provide technical support for disaster recovery efforts.

• 4+ years of systems administration experience on UNIX operating systems Linux, Solaris, or HP-UX.
• Experience with Disaster recovery and data replication.
• Hands‑on troubleshooting, tuning, and patching experience.
• Experience with administration, configuration, and troubleshooting experience with UNIX Server Cluster, Load Balancing, and Virtualization.
• Certifications:
  
  DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification:
  Category IAT Level II
