** SUMMARY
* * Under the direction of the Director of Conference Services, with dotted line reporting to the Director of National Sales, you’ll be responsible for contracting, selling, and servicing,

* * raternal (SMERF) groups with 34 or fewer lodging rooms per night and day business. This role has the potential to evolve to include more/different business, as department needs, change.
** WHAT YOU WILL DO
*** Prospect, solicit, and secure new SMERF group business through direct sales efforts, networking, referrals, and industry events.
* Manage the entire sales cycle, including lead generation, site inspections, proposal development, contract negotiation, and closing.
* Develop and maintain relationships with SMERF clients, meeting planners, executive assistants, third-party planners, and key decision-makers.
* Prepare customized proposals, budgeting, and contracts that align with client objectives and company revenue goals.
* Conduct property tours and presentations highlighting meeting facilities, accommodations, dining, on-property activities, and event services.
* Collaborate with catering, conference services, operations, sales team, and revenue management teams to ensure seamless meeting execution.
* Maintain accurate sales activity, forecasting, and pipeline management in the CRM system.
* Meet or exceed annual sales goals.
* Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
* Participate in industry associations, trade shows, and networking events to increase market visibility.
* Provide exceptional customer service before, during, and after each event to encourage repeat business and referrals.
* Assist with strategic sales initiatives and promotional campaigns targeting SMERF events.
* Contract high volume of group business.
* Negotiate with potential leads to maximize resort revenues.
* Communicate with the various resort operational departments the needs of a particular group coming on property.
* Oversee implementation and completion of groups through BEOs (Banquet Event Orders) and REO’s (Restaurant Event Orders) and being on-site to manage events.
* Discuss and fully understand what the client is trying to accomplish, then use this information as a tool in coordinating the events as well as upselling certain revenue areas within the resort.
* Attend regularly scheduled meetings with resort staff to ensure instructions are clearly understood by all parties involved, i.e. Conference Operations, Sales team, Banquet kitchen, restaurants, etc.
** WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE
*** Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.
* High School Diploma or equivalent required.
* 2-4 years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.
* Must be at least 21 years of age.
* Must be capable in some computer programs, e.g., Microsoft Word and Outlook. Amadeus Delphi, Delphi Diagraming, Microsoft Excel, and SMS Host experience are helpful as well. Strong communication skills through e-mail and over the phone are imperative.
* Requires the ability to communicate clearly and precisely in a variety of significant situations, both in verbal and written forms.
* Requires the ability to clearly communicate the directions given by clients to operations staff in order for conferences to run smoothly. Strong decision-making skills, oftentimes on the spot, are needed.
* Requires a heavy workload with follow-up of incoming leads, contracting business, finalizing details and on-site management of booked groups.
** WORK SCHEDULE
*** Shifts vary, maybe early morning or late evening, weekends, holidays, depending on business levels.
** WORKING CONDITIONS
*** Must be prepared to stay overnight if, necessary, on occasional times of road closures.
* May experience unusual stress from high business volumes, deadlines, continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.
* Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
* General office conditions prevail.
