Technical Manager, Software Engineering; Angular; On-site

Cricut is looking for a highly motivated and inspirational hands-on Angular Engineering Manager and leader with excellent qualifications to help design and build Angular native apps to work seamlessly with our Cricut machines. You will work in a fast-paced environment, delivering world-class apps that delight our customers and help grow the business. You are expected to be hands-on and detail-oriented in all phases of development, including planning, execution, and release.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support a team of software engineers.
• Spend approximately 30% of your time coding (reviewing code, pull requests, etc.).
• Mentor and coach team members regularly.
• Set goals, provide feedback, and manage performance.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
• Guide Agile/Scrum development practices.
• Partner with product and design teams.
• Plan and prioritize team projects.
• Break down work and manage timelines.
• Support architectural planning and technical direction.
• Promote high standards in code quality.
• Conduct code reviews and support testing.
• Encourage continuous learning and growth.
• Address team dynamics and morale.
• Support hiring and onboarding efforts.
• Act as a bridge between engineering and other teams.

Qualifications:

• Highly proficient in Angular 16+, Type Script, JavaScript, ES8+, HTML5, CSS3 + common CSS preprocessors.
• Proficient in test-driven development, automated testing, and testing frameworks.
• Experience with Webpack, NodeJS, Electron.
• Experience with Less/Sass CSS preprocessors.
• Experience working with Scalable Vector Graphics & vector graphics editing.
• Experience in modular and scalable software development.
• Experience maintaining a complex, modern codebase.
• Designing and developing modular, reusable, testable front-end components.
• Desire to learn cutting-edge technology to solve complex business problems.
• An appreciation for good design and translating visual ideas into efficient code.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Passion for quality and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Aptitude for independently learning new technologies.

Eligibility:

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant software engineering management experience.
• 5+ years leading teams building complex apps and systems with a focus on architecture, multi-threading, memory, and performance.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with continuous integration/delivery (e.g., Git Hub Actions).
• Experience with animation and graphics.
• Experience with automated UI testing.
• Experience with performance profiling and optimization.
• Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Experience with push notifications, in-app purchases, and subscriptions.
• Knowledge of Internationalization and native mobile development.
