Overview
The University of Rhode Island Foundation (URIF) seeks a talented and experienced Human Resources Associate Director to join our team. The Associate Director of Human Resources will develop and implement HR strategies and be a consultant and trusted advisor to URIF leadership. The ideal candidate should have five to seven years of HR experience with demonstrated success in talent management, including recruitment, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and professional development training.
This position reports to the Executive Director of Legal and Human Resources.
- Manage full‑cycle recruitment process for all positions, including management and senior leaders.
- Facilitate new hire orientation, including reviewing company policies, benefits, and training programs.
- Provide guidance and training to hiring managers on best practices for recruitment and hiring, diversity and inclusion, and regulatory compliance.
- Implement diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to promote a welcoming and inclusive environment for all employees.
- Partner with the senior leadership team to provide guidance and support on employee relations issues, performance management, and conflict resolution.
- Manage HRIS data entry, ensuring accuracy of employee records, and assist with HR reporting and analytics.
- Develop and implement HR strategies, including leadership development and team‑building workshops.
- Manage all benefits participation, including initial employee enrollment, open enrollment, FMLA leave requests, and communication with vendors.
- Lead organizational change efforts; design strategies for efficiency and culture improvement.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
- Five or more years of progressive HR experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven success in complex HR Management.
- Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
- Experience with HR software systems.
- Strong organizational skills: ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including excellent listening, relationship‑building, handling difficult situations and pursuing a resolution, and customer‑service skills.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and data integrity.
- Proven success in a position with high autonomy in decision‑making.
- Embody the values of URIF: accountability, collaboration, integrity, respect, and transparency.
- Advanced degree in human resources or leadership.
- SHRM‑CP/SCP or SPHR certification.
- Experience working within ADP Workforce Now.
