A countryside resort in North Devon is looking for an organised and hands-on Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support the Housekeeping Manager in delivering exceptional cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction across the site.
The resort offers self-catering lodges, cottages, and hotel accommodation, alongside leisure facilities, restaurants, and extensive outdoor experiences. This is a varied role across multiple accommodation types, ideal for someone who takes genuine pride in standards and enjoys leading from the floor.
The role
You will support the daily housekeeping operation across hotel rooms, lodges, cottages, and public areas, carrying out regular inspections and making sure all accommodation is prepared to the highest standard ahead of arrival. You will help plan and deliver deep cleaning schedules and seasonal projects, and monitor linen stocks, amenities, supplies, and equipment.
Leading the team is central. You will supervise, motivate, and support the housekeeping team day to day, assist with recruitment, induction, and training, run briefings, and help manage rotas, holiday requests, and staffing levels. You will work closely with Reception, Maintenance, Reservations, and Operations to keep the guest experience seamless, and respond promptly to guest requests and feedback. You will also keep all activity compliant with company policies, health and safety regulations, and COSHH requirements.
About you
You will have previous housekeeping supervisory or team leader experience within a hotel, resort, holiday park, or similar setting, with strong organisation, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to motivate a team in a fast-paced environment. A flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and bank holidays, is essential. Experience across multiple accommodation types, knowledge of housekeeping or property management systems, and COSHH or health and safety training are all advantageous.
The hours
Full-time, permanent, 40 hours per week. Flexibility is needed to meet the operational needs of the resort, including weekends, bank holidays, and peak seasonal periods.
