Intermediate Accountant
Salary: $70,000-$95,000 + Discretionary Bonus
Our client, a Fortune 500 commercial property and casualty insurance company
, is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join its growing accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with strong financial reporting experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants exposure to complex accounting, reinsurance, and financial reporting responsibilities.

- Opportunity to work on GAAP financial reporting, reinsurance accounting, and month-end close

- Hybrid work schedule (4 days onsite, 1 remote day each week (Friday))
- Competitive compensation and discretionary bonus
- Prepare GAAP financial statements, reporting packages, journal entries, and supporting schedules
- Perform account reconciliations, research discrepancies, and resolve reconciling items
- Handle reinsurance accounting, reporting, and reconciliations
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reinsurance bordereau for brokers
- Monitor cash settlements with profit centers and reinsurers
- Support month-end close while ensuring all reporting deadlines are met
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Strong financial reporting experience required
- Solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles
- Experience working in a high-volume, transactional environment
- Experience supporting multiple entities or business units preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- People Soft experience is a plus
- Property & Casualty insurance accounting experience is a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment
