Job Details Responsibilities
  • Lead assigned audit engagements day to day, managing planning, execution, and wrap up
  • Perform and oversee risk assessments, identifying key audit areas and tailoring procedures accordingly
  • Complete audit work papers by documenting tests and findings, verifying financial statement information against supporting documentation, and evaluating internal control systems
  • Review work papers prepared by Associates to confirm technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with firm standards
  • Provide on the job training and mentorship, answering technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients throughout fieldwork, keeping communication professional and responsive
  • Coordinate information requests, status updates, and issue resolution with client management
  • Identify and clearly communicate audit findings, control deficiencies, and recommendations to clients
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 2 to 6 years of audit experience
  • Ability to travel around 80% of the time throughout the Chicago suburbs, with occasional travel elsewhere in Illinois
  • Strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple engagements at once
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Preferred qualifications
  • Actively pursuing a CPA license
  • Government or nonprofit audit experience
