Seasonal Tax Reviewer

• Review prepared tax returns for individuals, businesses, partnerships, or trusts for errors, discrepancies, documentation, and compliance
• Provide guidance to tax preparers and act as a technical resource and escalation point for complex tax questions
• Interface with client personnel to review and apply accounting and tax principles
• Contact clients by phone or email to gather necessary information
• Review files for signatures, supporting documentation, and filing due dates
• Obtain proper filing extensions when necessary
• Perform detailed tax return reviews, research, and compliance work
• Perform work in compliance with firm policies and procedures
• Maintain technical tax skills through on-the-job and internal training
• Conduct complex tax research and stay abreast of current tax laws and regulations
• Assist clients with tax planning and business strategy
• Provide training and supervision to junior family members

• 7 years of relevant experience required
• Bachelor's degree is required
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
• CPA is required; JD or Enrolled Agent is acceptable in lieu
• Knowledge of tax calculations, accounting theory, tax law, and compliance
• Ability to conduct complex tax research
• Ability to maintain current knowledge of tax laws and regulations
• Ability to provide training and supervision to junior family members

Demonstrates expertise in tax return review, compliance, and complex tax research, while providing guidance and training to junior staff. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations to assist clients with tax planning and business strategy.
