Student workers serve as assistants to the staff of the Offices of Campus Safety and Residence Life. They provide general clerical and office support, assist with projects, data entry, and office maintenance.
Responsibilities- Learn the policies and procedures of the Campus Safety and Residence Life offices.
- Greet students, parents, faculty, staff, and guests of the office.
- Answer telephone calls, take and deliver accurate phone messages.
- Apply general office skills such as typing, creation and maintenance of files, and use of business-oriented computer systems, including word processing, database management, and spreadsheets.
- Make photocopies, file paperwork, and assist with mailings by preparing envelopes and labels.
- Communicate appropriately using base unit radio.
- Process lost and found items.
- Process parking applications, tickets, and payments.
- Assist students with completing appropriate Residence Life forms.
- Keep the office neat and clean.
- Assist Directors/Staff/Officers with various projects.
- Enrolled as an NCC student, attending classes during the academic year.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills when dealing with people both internal and external to the College, in person, electronically, and on the telephone.
- Handle a number of tasks concurrently, in an environment when interruptions are common; show a well‑organized, detail‑oriented, flexible, and able to efficiently establish priorities.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and time management skills.
- Accurately process and organize large amounts of information and data within prescribed time frames.
- Work effectively as a member of a staff where cooperation and teamwork are essential.
- Communicate in a clear, professional, and friendly manner both verbally and in writing, which will reflect positively on the College.
