Our client is seeking a highly driven Sales Project Manager to serve as a key technical and commercial liaison between customers and internal teams. This role blends project management, technical expertise, and consultative sales
, making it ideal for someone who thrives in customer-facing environments and enjoys solving complex industrial challenges.
You’ll act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing guidance on grouting, foundation, and equipment support solutions while managing projects from initial engagement through execution. This position requires frequent travel, adaptability, and the ability to confidently operate in both boardroom and job-site environments.
Projects You’ll Work On- Managing technical and commercial projects supporting industrial machinery installations
- Supporting customers on-site during product installations and construction activities
- Developing customized application solutions for OEMs and machine tool distributors
- Expanding existing customer relationships while identifying and developing new business opportunities
- Leading distributor relationships and coordinating installation and construction crews
- Delivering technical presentations and training sessions for small and large groups
- Customer & Business Development
- Maintain and expand existing customer accounts through a “land and expand” strategy
- Prospect and generate new business through consultative, value-based selling
- Conduct sales meetings and present technical product and service solutions
- Gather Voice of Customer (VoC) insights to improve offerings and stay ahead of industry trends
- Act as a subject matter expert on products, systems, and procedures
- Oversee project execution to ensure timelines, quality, and customer expectations are met
- Supervise and support distributors and installation crews in the field
- Track and report project progress, sales activity, and forecasts
- Investigate customer issues, develop solutions, and recommend improvements
- Monitor market conditions including competitors, pricing, and emerging technologies
- Maintain strong internal communication with leadership and cross-functional teams
- 2–3 years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Outside technical or industrial sales
- Industrial manufacturing or management
- Construction or project management
- Demonstrated project management experience related to machine or equipment installations
- Microsoft Office & Office 365
- CRM and contact management systems
- Construction documents and drawings (CAD/Solid Works familiarity preferred)
- Strong problem-solving skills with complex technical challenges
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated, independent, and action-oriented
- Comfortable working remotely with a fluid and dynamic schedule
- Cost-conscious mindset with a strong sense of project ownership
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Must be based in Chicago area
- Remote-based role with frequent regional and national travel
- Work conditions vary from professional office settings to active construction sites
- Must be comfortable wearing PPE (hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, etc.)
- Some project sites may be physically demanding
- Schedule flexibility is essential due to changing customer and project needs
