Patron Services Associate; Part-Time

Do you enjoy working on a variety of tasks? Are you looking for the opportunity to work with the public and provide exceptional customer service? Green Hills Public Library District is seeking a versatile and service-oriented Associate to join the Patron Services Department.

This position assists patrons and performs a variety of tasks at our busy Patron Services Desk, which includes creating Library cards, checking in/out materials, collecting payments for fines/fees, processing and cataloging serial publications, assisting patrons with the copy machine, and participating in daily reports. In addition, Patron Services Associates are responsible for sorting and shelving Library materials throughout the building.

Our ideal candidate is a quick learner who demonstrates excellent customer services skills, has the ability to work in a team environment and independently to maintain efficiency, is comfortable with technology, and can successfully work in a fast-paced environment.

• High School Diploma or equivalent, or working towards completion.
• Previous experience in a library or other customer service environment preferred.
• Fluency in Arabic, Polish, or Spanish is a plus.

12 hours per week minimum. This typically includes (3) four-hour shifts on weekdays/nights, plus a weekend rotation which are additional hours. We are open 10am-5pm on Saturdays and 12-4pm on Sundays. Open availability is a plus.

$15.42-$19.27 per hour; offers are made within this range based on competencies and experience. $19.27 is the midpoint of the pay grade which is reserved for candidates who exceed the minimum qualifications and have significant relevant experience.
