Position SummaryAdjunct Faculty, Communication and Media Studies. The Department invites applications for adjunct faculty to join an ongoing pool of qualified instructors. The primary need is for faculty who can teach Introduction to Public Speaking, a core first‑year general education course. Qualified candidates may also teach courses that serve the department’s communication curriculum.
Qualified candidates:
Master’s degree in Communication; previous college‑level teaching experience preferred; demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence, student mentorship, and collaborative engagement within the department.
The position is part‑time, course‑by‑course teaching opportunities; assignments vary by semester based on departmental needs, funding, and enrollment; qualified applicants may be contacted as opportunities arise.
Expectations- Hold courses as scheduled in person on campus.
- Assess student work and provide constructive, timely feedback.
- Mentor first‑year undergraduate students.
- Build and maintain Canvas course sites.
- Hold regular weekly office hours.
- Attend college workshops and professional development opportunities related to teaching public speaking and the first‑year curriculum (stipend supported).
