Mercer University is actively searching for a Director of Development for our School of Law on the Macon, Georgia campus.
Responsibilities:
The Director of Development is responsible for coordinating fundraising and related events and activities in an effort to foster a continuing relationship between the Law School/University and its alumni and friends. The primary responsibilities of the job are to encourage alumni and friends to provide support to the School/University through their time, service, and monetary gifts. Specifically, this position is responsible for ensuring the School’s annual fund goal is met each fiscal year, the School’s campaign goals are met and the School’s major fundraising events are planned and orchestrated successfully.
Further, the Law School Development Officer, working in concert with the Alumni Relations and Law School Communication/Marketing staff members, will coordinate advancement efforts as a team. While reporting directly to the Senior Vice President for University Advancement (or their designee), the Law School Development Officer will maintain direct communication with and support the efforts and initiatives of the Law School Dean as they relate to advancement efforts.
While serving as a member of the overall University Advancement staff, the Law School Development Officer is to participate in senior Law School staff meetings and other special events as requested by the Dean and will take significant direction from the Dean.
Qualifications :
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required along with two years of experience working with people in fundraising, direct sales experience, business development experience, and/or activities where relationship building is essential, or other related business experiences. Candidates with a law master's or JD degree are highly desirable.
Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's carrier as this position requires travel.
