Job Description
Make a meaningful impact supporting elementary students as a Learning Behavior Specialist in an onsite contract role. Located in the Chicago area, this opportunity spans the upcoming academic year and is ideal for educators who thrive in collaborative environments and are dedicated to helping diverse learners succeed.
As a valued member of a dedicated special education team, you'll work hands‑on with self‑contained 4th and 5th grade classrooms. Your support will help students achieve their reading and math IEP goals while ensuring their inclusion alongside general education peers during specials, lunch, recess, social studies, and science.
Qualifications- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with an LBS1 endorsement
- Special education experience, especially in elementary settings
- Skilled in developing, implementing, and tracking individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Ability to foster positive relationships with students, families, and staff
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Teach and adapt curriculum for students in 4th and 5th grades within a supportive classroom setting
- Serve a caseload of up to 17 students, tailoring instruction for reading and math per IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure meaningful inclusion
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings
- Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral growth in partnership with school staff

With a consistent daytime schedule of 8:00 AM to 3:15 PM, you can focus on building relationships and guiding students toward their fullest potential.
