Make a difference in the lives of preschool-aged children through a part-time contract opportunity as a Special Education professional for the  school year. If you are passionate about early childhood education and are committed to supporting students with diverse learning needs, this assignment is tailored for you.

In this role, you'll work with a dedicated preschool group, utilizing your specialized training and supportive instincts to foster growth and development. You'll be instrumental in crafting individualized learning plans and creating an inclusive, engaging classroom atmosphere.

Qualifications and Credentials:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • LBS1 endorsement
  • Early Childhood Special Education certification or Early Childhood Education credential
  • Previous experience working with young children in a special education setting highly valued
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and instructional skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to preschool-aged children as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Assess student abilities and develop appropriate goals and strategies
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to ensure optimal learning environments
  • Implement evidence-based interventions suited to individual student needs
  • Maintain documentation, progress reports, and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development sessions
