BBNS Academy CHOSEN Scholars Ameri Corps members serve as trusted mentors, academic support providers, and positive role models for students. Members help create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where students can grow academically, socially, and personally.

Through tutoring, mentoring, classroom support, enrichment activities, and youth development initiatives, CHOSEN Scholars work alongside BBNS Academy staff to address student needs and encourage students to develop confidence, leadership skills, healthy relationships, and a commitment to their education.

Members may provide individualized and small-group academic support, assist with homework and learning activities, encourage positive behavior and school engagement, and help connect students and families with available resources. Members also participate in activities designed to promote character development, life skills, leadership, and college and career readiness.

The CHOSEN Scholars program is designed to strengthen student outcomes while providing Ameri Corps members with meaningful opportunities to develop professional skills, leadership experience, and a deeper understanding of service to their community. Members receive ongoing training, supervision, and support from BBNS Academy staff and are expected to uphold the organization's commitment to serving students with compassion, integrity, consistency, and excellence.

Duties :

The Half-Time Ameri Corps Tutor/Mentor will serve with BBNS Academy to support the academic achievement, educational engagement, and personal development of students participating in BBNS Academy programs.

The member will provide structured one-on-one and small-group tutoring, mentoring, academic enrichment, homework support, and educational activities. The member will encourage students to develop positive academic habits, set educational goals, strengthen academic skills, and increase confidence in their ability to succeed.

The member will serve as a positive role model and provide consistent support to students while working under the supervision of designated BBNS Academy staff.
