Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) Education Specialist | Part-Time | Illinois | 2026–2027 School Year

Our organization is partnering with an Illinois school district to hire a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) for the 2026–2027 school year. This part-time, in-person opportunity provides a flexible schedule of 2–3 days per week for an educator who is passionate about supporting students through specialized instruction, communication development, and inclusive learning practices.

As a DHH Educator, you will play an important role in helping students overcome barriers to learning by providing targeted instruction, supporting individualized goals, and collaborating with a team of professionals committed to student achievement. You will partner with classroom teachers, families, and related service providers to create an accessible educational experience that promotes confidence, independence, and academic progress.

Role Highlights:

  • Assist with educational planning and monitor student progress.
  • Foster an inclusive environment that values accessibility and student success.
  • Collaborate with educators, specialists, and families to support student-centered goals.
  • Implement strategies that promote communication, engagement, and academic development.
  • Provide individualized instruction and learning support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
Requirements
  • Strong instructional planning, communication, and collaboration abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement.
