Summary
:
To evaluate and support the global developmental processes of learning and to apply both technical and developmental knowledge of best early childhood practices within the evaluative and pre-k classroom environments.

Reports to: Program Coordinator/Administrator

Qualifications: Master's, Specialist, or Doctorate in School Psychology

Able to utilize available technology to generate reports, manage data, and maintain required student records

Training and experience in play based assessment is preferred, but not required.

Valid Illinois driver's license and access to a reliable, insured vehicle in order to drive between service provision locations in member districts

Physical
Requirements: The job requires light physical exertion (e.g., lifting, carrying materials and/or supplies, sitting on floor/small chairs, driving, clerical tasks while sitting or standing, mobility)

with the possibility of occasional moderate exertion (e.g., lifting more than 15 lbs; assisting students or staff during instruction or evaluation). Independent transportation is also required because LADSE staff frequently work in multiple locations within the LADSE community.

Professional Standard practice is to conduct evaluations annually for the first four years, bi-annually

Description:

Part-time (0.2

FTE) - Tuesdays

• Adhere to professional, ethical and legal standards of best practice of psychology in the schools, as dictated by associated organizations, e.g. ISBE, NASP, NAEYC, CEC-DEC, etc.
• Implement practices consistent with Danielson Framework for Teaching.
• Implement LADSE's policies and procedures.
• See Employee Handbook – General Duties, Responsibilities, and Competencies.
• Drive own car, or otherwise provide for transportation between assignment locations.

• Graduate degree in School Psychology with appropriate Professional Educator License, endorse din School Psychology.

• Insurance: health, dental, vision, and life insurance for those who are a 0.8 FTE and above. ~ No insurance benefits for this position since it's not eligible)

• TRS / retirement - same as an Illinois public school employee

• You work in the local school Districts that are supported by LADSE, as well as the individual programs that are run specifically run by LADSE.
• You will have many other school psychologists that you are able to network with and are supervised by a School Psychologist Coordinator that has vast knowledge in school psych.
• There are great professional development opportunities for our psychs, as well as being able to collaborate with a multitude of other special education programs such as various occupational therapists, SLPs, physical therapists, social workers, etc. to broaden your skill set and exposure.
• You will be able to support various students from various backgrounds.
• Enjoy the same retirement and service credit from TRS as all School District psychs, with the advantage of having a large psych unit to support your career growth through mentoring and sharing of advice and ideas.
