Civil Senior Design Engineer; Bridge

Epstein seeks a Bridge Senior Design Engineer with bridge experience to join our Civil engineering team. The engineer performs a variety of engineering tasks and works with a multidisciplinary team to design innovative and technically sound solutions in accordance with project requirements and applicable codes. The ideal candidate will have work experience in the civil engineering field related to transportation structures.

Project types may include new structures as well as inspection, evaluation and rehabilitation of existing structures. Projects involve a wide variety of structure types, foundations and materials, preferably on IDOT and/or ISTHA projects.

• Design transportation structures including highway bridges, retaining walls, and box culverts.
• Prepare structural analysis and design calculations according to applicable codes; use computer programs as appropriate.
• Prepare technical reports, contract plans, specifications, construction cost estimates, and perform on‑site structural inspections, analysis and condition assessment of existing structures.
• Assist with project construction administration including reviews of shop drawings and requests for information (RFIs).

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis on Structural Engineering. Master’s in Structural Engineering preferred.
• Actively pursuing licensure.
• 5+ years of successful project experience within a consulting engineering firm.
• Experience in bridge design and inspection principles.
• Experience with Micro Station and structural analysis/finite element software.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.

Salary range: $85,000 – $120,000 annually.
