Summary Of Job
This position is an experienced level (3+ years), non‑engineering track position, responsible for preparing documents for AG&E precast projects under the direction of senior staff. The role includes BIM modeling of erection plans, components, connections, details, and piece tickets. Duties include coordination of architectural, civil, structural, and MEP plans, elevations, and details, along with coordination with precast manufacturers. Work under the direction of precast engineers, other precast BIM Specialists, and the precast BIM Manager.
Manage precast BIM Technicians and other precast BIM Specialists as assigned.
- Junior College Associate’s Degree, Technical College Degree or equivalent work‑and‑industry‑related experience; or
- Bachelor’s in Architectural, Civil, Industrial, or Structural Engineering, or Bachelor’s in Architecture Technology or equivalent work‑or‑industry‑related experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in producing precast documents
- Basic communication skills, including verbal and written
- Able to:
- work from verbal and written technical direction from senior staff at a basic level
- work effectively within a team environment with a group of diverse professionals
- organize and manage own time effectively
- organize, plan, and perform tasks effectively
- read and interpret technical and construction documents
- continuously strive to advance skills with effort inside and outside the office
- back‑check own work and strive for quality
- Basic understanding of:
- commercially available office software (Word, Excel, Adobe/Bluebeam, etc.)
- CAD and BIM software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Tekla or equivalent
- Able to work extended periods (multiple hours) of the day at a computer
- Prepare all work in accordance with approved office processes, formats and standards
- Work on assigned tasks, under direction of engineering staff, preparing required documents in CAD or BIM
- Work on prospects for sales, developing presentations using Revit, Tekla, or other 3D modeling platforms
- Perform tasks accurately and on time with necessary guidance, and proactively seek advice on tasks as needed
- Meet task deadlines and adhere to budgeted hours
- Check quality and accuracy of work performed by others
- Volunteers to work hours needed to meet deadlines
- Volunteers to work additional hours to assist others (not assigned work) to meet deadlines

- Participate in external/in‑house seminars and training activities/sessions
- Mentor and provide guidance to other BIM staff when needed
- Work under the direction of precast engineers, other precast BIM Specialists, and precast BIM Manager

- Perform other duties as assigned
