Position:Civil/Track Project Engineer
We are seeking to hire a licensed Project Engineer for our Civil/Track Design department in the Railroad Services group. You will gain hands‑on experience, collaborate with seasoned Project Managers, Engineers, and Technicians, and contribute to projects for Class I, short line, and commuter rail clients. You will design and engineer rail and transit systems, including light rail (LRT), heavy rail (HRT), freight, and commuter rail.
LocationThis hybrid position can be based in Omaha, NE;
Milwaukee, WI;
Chicago, IL;
Naperville, IL;
Charlotte, NC; or Raleigh, NC.
- Serve as a track design engineer on projects of various scales.
- Support track and civil leads on major infrastructure projects.
- Conduct quantity take-offs for all track corridor components.
- Collaborate on technical specifications.
- Work effectively with cross‑functional design teams.
- Offer support to Project Managers.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) and 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain it within one year.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley InRoads/Open Roads/Open Rail.
- Experience working on railroad projects.
Salary range: $95,000 – $125,000, depending on education, qualifications, experience, and location.
