As a Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Waste Management Practice in Naperville, IL, you will be involved in the planning, permitting, design, and site development of integrated solid waste facilities. You’ll manage multidisciplinary teams supporting local government and private clients across the municipal solid waste, industrial, and energy sectors. You’ll oversee project execution from concept through construction, ensuring quality, regulatory compliance, and client satisfaction, while collaborating across CEC practices to deliver integrated, resilient solutions that protect the public and environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage solid waste and site development projects from proposal through construction, including scope, schedule, and budget oversight
- Lead project teams in the planning, permitting, and design of integrated solid waste facilities
- Perform quality assurance/quality control reviews to ensure deliverables meet regulatory requirements and client expectations
- Coordinate and communicate with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal teams throughout all phases of the project
- Prepare proposals and support business development efforts to expand client relationships and win new work
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technical staff, supporting their professional growth and development
- Collaborate with other CEC practices to deliver integrated, multidisciplinary solutions
The posting range for this position is between $84,456 - $154,494 based on experience and location (in addition, CEC offers overtime pay and other benefits).
Qualifications- 5+ years’ experience in design, permitting, document preparation, and CQA of waste disposal facilities
- Experience coordinating regulatory agency review process
- BS. in Civil, Geotechnical, Environmental Engineering, or related field (M.S. a plus)
- Professional licensure (P.E. or G.) preferred
- Understanding of business principles of consulting projects and related project delivery tools
