Connectivity Engineering Specialist – Autonomy

Responsibilities

• Stay updated with the latest advancements in cellular, Wi‑Fi, SD‑WAN technologies and connectivity standards.
• Research new industry connectivity solutions that could be leveraged to further enable autonomous construction machines.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals and industry standards.
• Develop detailed technical specifications and documentation for connectivity solutions.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate potential solutions and their impact on existing systems.
• Work closely with software and hardware development teams to ensure seamless integration of connectivity technologies.
• Participate in design reviews, testing, and validation processes to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to connectivity systems and technologies.

• Requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent foreign equivalent degree) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a closely related field.
• 10+ years of engineering experience
• Ability to lead programs and mentor other engineers
• Understanding of Network technologies and protocols along with connectivity standards
• Understanding of the capabilities and limits of certain wireless technology (Wi‑Fi, Cellular, unlicensed backhaul)
• Knowledge and capability in the areas of SD‑WAN, wireless link bonding, load balancing, network coding
• Experience in software development and architecture (C++)
• Linux/Ubuntu
