LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, and they are seeking a motivated Design Engineer -- Mechanical Equipment Designer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on custom equipment, machinery, and engineered systems from concept through implementation while collaborating with cross‑functional teams in a dynamic environment.
As a Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and continuous improvement of specialized machinery and equipment. This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging engineering projects, develop innovative design solutions, and contribute directly to the successful delivery of customer‑focused equipment and systems. The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and enjoys balancing hands‑on engineering with project coordination responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop detailed 2D and 3D mechanical designs for custom machinery, equipment, and engineered systems.
- Create manufacturing drawings, layouts, assemblies, and technical documentation using AutoCAD and Solid Works.
- Interpret customer requirements, specifications, and project objectives to develop practical engineering solutions.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, project management, and operations teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Generate equipment designs that consider manufacturability, performance, safety, and cost objectives.
- Prepare bills of materials, design documentation, and technical submittals.
- Review and revise engineering drawings to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
- Support prototype development, equipment testing, and system improvements.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure milestones are achieved.
- Provide technical support during fabrication, assembly, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Interface with vendors, suppliers, and customers to resolve technical issues and support project success.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, design enhancements, and cost reductions.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Experience designing industrial machinery, custom equipment, or engineered mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D for drafting and design documentation.
- Strong experience utilizing Solid Works for 3D modeling, assemblies, and design development.
- Ability to create detailed manufacturing and fabrication drawings.
- Understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience supporting capital equipment, automated systems, or custom‑engineered machinery.
- Familiarity with fabrication, machining, welding, or manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to equipment installation, startup, or field support activities.
- Project leadership or project coordination experience.
$80,000 - $110,000
