The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency seeks an Environmental Protection Engineer III to perform detailed technical engineering reviews of plans and specifications for water treatment facilities, water main extensions, and storage projects within the Public Water Supplies Permit Program. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in engineering science (environmental, civil, chemical, or related engineering specialty)
- Two years of professional engineering experience in engineering fields listed above
- Two years of experience reviewing or preparing plans and specifications for public water supply treatment systems
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel
- Two years of experience determining regulatory compliance of public water supply permit applications
