The Controller Group Lead is a senior role within the global Finance organization, responsible for managing and developing two core revenue teams:
Revenue Accounting and Business Revenue.
This role owns the end‑to‑end revenue lifecycle, ensuring accurate and compliant revenue recognition (ASC 606), operational excellence, scalable processes, and alignment across Sales, Billing, FP&A, Legal, and Operations.
The Revenue Controller Group Lead and operational right hand to the Director of Revenue, driving cross‑functional execution, reporting quality, governance, and automation across the revenue ecosystem.
AboutThe Role
- Lead and manage the Revenue Accounting and Business Revenue teams.
- Oversee end‑to‑end revenue processes, ensuring accuracy and ASC 606 compliance.
- Own and oversee all commission processes, including policies, calculations, and validation.
- Own month end and quarter end revenue close activities.
- Maintain strong internal controls, SOX readiness, and audit support.
- Drive cross‑team alignment with client‑facing teams, Billing, FP&A, Legal, and additional stakeholders.
- Lead revenue‑related projects, automation initiatives, and system enhancements.
- Own revenue dashboards, KPIs, insights, and executive‑level reporting.
- Review complex deals and serve as the escalation point for revenue‑related questions.
- Improve processes through standardization, optimization, automation and data integrity initiatives.
- Build team capabilities, set goals, and develop a high‑performance culture.
- Partner with FP&A to develop revenue forecasts
- CPA with 8+ years of experience in Finance/Accounting, including managerial experience.
- Proven experience managing teams or team leads—must.
- Deep understanding of ASC 606, knowledge and experience with software and/or SaaS‑based or subscription revenue recognition.
- Strong analytical and financial review skills.
- Demonstrated success driving cross‑functional projects.
- Ability to operate in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments and build structure where needed.
- Familiarity with Net Suite and Salesforce—advantage.
- Experience in a public SaaS company—advantage.
- Experience working in global/multi‑region organizations—advantage.
