Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to help design and implement an improved, system-driven approach to Fixed Asset Management within a large industrial environment. The organization currently uses Microsoft Dynamics for its fixed asset ledger but faces functional limitations, particularly around asset componentization, partial disposals, and integration with maintenance systems.
Role OverviewThe consultant will assess current-state processes and system constraints, then develop a scalable solution—either within, alongside, or integrated with Microsoft Dynamics—that enables:
- Component-level tracking of large assets
- Accurate management of partial disposals
- Robust calculation of depreciation, useful life adjustments, and replacement component activity
- Improved alignment between the fixed asset ledger and maintenance systems
- Reduced reliance on manual Excel-based calculations
- Improved visibility into component replacements to prevent last-minute write-downs at reporting periods
- Evaluate current fixed asset processes, data structures, and Dynamics configuration
- Recommend and design a system-based solution to enable component tracking and depreciation automation
- Support evaluation of third-party tools or add-on solutions to enhance Dynamics
- Build a roadmap toward future ERP improvements, including a larger fixed-asset workstream within the longer-term ERP program
- Provide best practices and technical guidance based on deep knowledge of fixed assets in industrial operations
- Extensive experience in Fixed Asset Management within large industrial or asset-heavy companies
- Hands on experience designing or implementing componentization or partial disposal solutions
- Familiarity with depreciation models, asset lifecycle accounting, and integration to maintenance or CMMS systems
- Ability to translate accounting, operations, and system requirements into practical solutions
- Duration will depend on the recommended solution
- Strong potential for long-term involvement, including participation in a future full ERP program focusing on fixed asset functionality
