Position: Senior Snowflake Data Engineer / Architect

Overview

We are seeking a highly technical Snowflake Data Expert to support a global consumer enterprise in modernizing and scaling its data architecture across multiple portfolio companies.

This role will focus on designing, optimizing, and governing enterprise-grade Snowflake environments that support analytics, reporting, operational insights, and future AI/ML initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings strong data warehousing architecture experience, hands-on Snowflake expertise, and the ability to work across complex, multi-entity global environments.

Key Responsibilities Snowflake Architecture & Design
  • Design and optimize scalable Snowflake data warehouse solutions
  • Implement best practices around data modeling (Star/Snowflake schema, Data Vault, etc.)
  • Configure role-based access control (RBAC) and governance frameworks
  • Optimize warehouse sizing, clustering, and cost management strategies
  • Build and manage ETL/ELT pipelines into Snowflake
  • Integrate data from ERP, CRM, supply chain, and operational systems
  • Work with tools such as:
  • Fivetran
  • Matillion
  • dbt
  • Informatica
  • Azure Data Factory / AWS Glue (as applicable)
  • Develop automated ingestion pipelines (batch and near real-time)
Performance & Optimization
  • Tune queries and optimize compute/storage performance
  • Implement partitioning and clustering strategies
  • Monitor warehouse consumption and cost efficiency
  • Implement performance benchmarking standards
Governance & Security
  • Implement data governance policies and security best practices
  • Manage data masking, encryption, and compliance standards
  • Establish metadata management and lineage tracking
  • Ensure multi-entity data segmentation where required
Global Environment Collaboration
  • Support multiple international business units under a centralized ownership structure
  • Standardize data models and reporting structures across entities
  • Collaborate with BI, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations stakeholders
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of hands‑on Snowflake experience
  • 8+ years in data engineering or data architecture roles preferred
  • Strong SQL expertise (advanced query optimization)
  • Experience building enterprise‑scale data warehouses
  • Experience with:
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Snowflake certification (Snow Pro Core or Advanced)
  • Experience in consumer goods, retail, or manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with data lake architectures and hybrid cloud environments
  • Experience enabling AI/ML use cases within Snowflake ecosystem


** The role compensation will be $80-$120/hour**
