Job Description
Our client, a company that specializes in the formation and ongoing management of group captive insurance companies, is seeking a Group Captive Loss Control Specialist. This role focuses on program oversight, quality assurance and strategic alignment of safety initiatives with captive objectives, while delivering exceptional client support to a portfolio of commercial property/casualty insureds participating in the company's group captive programs.
This is a hybrid position in Illinois.
- Manage relationships with outsourced loss control consultants, ensuring adherence to captive standards and service expectations.
- Review and approve loss control plans, audit reports, and recommendations provided by external advisors.
- Monitor consultant performance and provide feedback to maintain quality and consistency across all captive members.
- Develop and maintain loss control protocols and best practices for group captive programs.
- Ensure outsourced advisors deliver timely risk assessments, safety audits and training sessions.
- Track completion of member service commitments and escalate gaps or deficiencies to ARU management.
- Analyze loss trends and consultant reports to identify systemic issues and improvement opportunities.
- Prepare consolidated reports for captive boards and member reviews, highlighting progress and risk improvement metrics.
- Provide regular program updates and strategic recommendations to the Vice President of Loss Control.
- Act as a resource for captive members on safety and compliance issues.
- Support onboarding of new members by coordinating initial risk evaluations and consultant assignments.
- Participate in captive board meetings and present program updates.
- 3+ years of experience in loss control, risk management or safety program oversight
- Strong ability to manage vendor relationships and enforce service standards
- Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
- Familiarity with OSHA and FMCSA regulations, and industry-specific safety standards
- Ability to travel as needed
- Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office products
- College degree (preferred); CSP or ARM designation a plus
The anticipated pay range for this position is $100K - $115K annually. We understand salary is an important factor in a job search, and we encourage you to apply even if you feel that your desired compensation may fall outside of the listed range. The final pay for this position is determined based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant experience, skills and certifications, education and training, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity.
