The inbound receiving Floor Manager is a key leader responsible for managing daily operations. You will inspire and lead your team to meet short-term and long-term goals, enabling the execution of key initiatives. This role is perfect for a leader who is passionate about managing both the tactical and strategic sides of business operations.
A day in the life as a Floor Manager ...- Manages effective labor plans to ensure proper staffing levels according to budgets for overtime, full-time and temporary labor
- Ensures productivity measurement standards are met
- Identifies and resolves critical distribution issues for inbound processes
- Creates an environment that fosters open and positive team communication
- Participates in the interviewing and hiring process for distribution center associates
- Supports all efforts and initiatives across the operation
- Performs safety observations in conjunction with job observations to coach and counsel associates on proper safety procedures
- Leads investigations for safety incidents and injuries by performing root cause analysis to remove future potential safety hazards
- Plays an active role in the participation of all safety programs and acts as a role model for all associates.
- Oversees and implements company and OSHA guidelines and programs to contribute to a safe working environment for all associates
- Serves a backup for other floor managers as necessary
- Participates in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems applicable to the position
- Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management System; preferably Blue Yonder
- Computer skills, proficiency with Google applications, MS Word & Excel
- Ability to resolve problems
- Strong time management, organizational, planning skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Basic math skills; detail-oriented
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and written form
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
- 5+ years distribution experience, 2 years supervisory experience
- Associate’s Degree in related field preferred; or relevant experience
